Skipper guides: four things parents ask first

Updated 28 October 2026

Four short guides cover snorkelling with children, choosing a cabin on a six-cabin boat, phone signal on board and sleeping aboard at anchor. Each is built on fixed facts, never on a promise. Whole boat from IDR 97,100,000 (≈ USD 5,957) for 3 days and 2 nights on Sea Familia 1.

Four guides, in the order a parent asks them

A parent asks about the water first, then the bed, then the phone, then the night. The guides follow that order. Each is short and built on fixed facts, so none of them promises a sighting, a sea state or a quiet cabin.

Start with the first snorkel with a child if the water worries you, and with the cabin guide if the beds do.

Where the guides stop

Three subjects are outside what a booking team can promise. Diving belongs to a separate dive operator, arranged on request. Medical advice belongs to your doctor, and the boats list basic first aid only. Where the boat spends the night is the captain's decision on the day.

For rules, the park fees page has the tickets and the Skipper's notes collect the in-water rules with their sources. For anything the guides leave open, the questions page has 52 answers and the contact page has the number to message.

FAQ

Are the guides written by the crew?

No. They are written by our team at PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, from the brochures of the two boats and the park's published details. We are the booking partner, not the shipowner, and we say so wherever the crew's own knowledge would be needed. Where a fact is confirmed per booking, the guide says that.

Do guides change prices?

No. Prices come from the rate list and follow party size and the boat. The guides explain choices, such as a cabin or a stop, and none of them adds a charge. For prices, use the private charter page, where the whole-boat rates for 2 to 14 guests are listed.

Where do I find rules?

Park entry rules and fees are on the park fees page, and the in-water rules are collected, with sources, in the Skipper's notes. The rangers give the rules on the day, and on the water the crew's instruction comes first. Ask us for anything you need in writing.
