Sea Familia 2 before you board: what you get, cabin by cabin

Sea Familia 2 is a 36.35 m phinisi with 6 cabins for up to 14 guests. Two Master cabins have a balcony and an outdoor bathtub, three Deluxe cabins have two single beds, and the Family cabin has a queen bed and a bunk. Every cabin has air conditioning and a private bathroom.
Six cabins on two decks
Sea Familia 2 is 36.35 m long and 7.5 m wide, with six cabins for up to 14 guests. The two Master cabins sit on the main deck. The three Deluxe cabins and the Family cabin are one deck down. Every one of the six has air conditioning and a private bathroom.
Out of the cabins, your party shares an air-conditioned indoor lounge, a dining area and a jacuzzi on deck. Karaoke and music are on board for the evenings. On a private charter all of it belongs to your people for the whole trip.

The Master cabins: balcony, outdoor bathtub, sea view
Each of the two Master cabins has a double bed and an extra bed, so it sleeps 2 to 3. Each has an ocean view, a balcony, an outdoor bathtub and its own ensuite bathroom. No other cabin on the boat has a balcony or a bathtub.
Inside, a large bed sits against a geometric headboard wall under a rattan ceiling, with windows onto the sea. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and a vanity fronted in rattan.
The extra bed makes a Master the cabin for a couple with one child, or for a grandparent who wants a grandchild close by. On an open trip that third place costs IDR 3,000,000 (≈ USD 184) per person, and only the Master cabins take one.
Skipper's tip pack a light cover-up for the balcony. The morning air on deck is cooler than the cabin, and the bathtub is best before the sun climbs.
Deluxe and Family: the lower deck
The three Deluxe cabins each have two single beds and sleep 2. That suits two friends who swim together and sleep apart, a parent with a teenager, or two children of the same age.
The Family cabin has a queen bed and a bunk and sleeps 2 to 4. Two parents and two small children fit in one room, or three siblings can share it while the parents take a cabin next door.
All four lower-deck cabins have air conditioning and a private bathroom. Photos of the Deluxe and Family cabins come with your quote on request.
Who sleeps where: five real groups
- Two couples. A Master cabin each, so both get a balcony and an outdoor bathtub. Four of the six doors are left free.
- A family of four. All four in the Family cabin, or the parents in a Master and the children in the Family cabin below.
- A family of five. The three children in the Family cabin, the parents in a Deluxe on the same deck.
- Three generations, eight guests. Grandparents in a Master on the main deck, parents and two children in the Family cabin, two teenagers in a Deluxe.
- Fourteen friends. Three in each Master, two in each Deluxe, two in the Family cabin. That is the boat full.

What a private charter costs your group
A private charter is priced per boat by party size, not per person. For 3 days and 2 nights, Sea Familia 2 costs IDR 114,400,000 (≈ USD 7,018) for 1 to 10 guests, IDR 128,700,000 (≈ USD 7,896) for 11 or 12 and IDR 137,300,000 (≈ USD 8,423) for 13 or 14.
Split by heads, four guests pay IDR 28,600,000 (≈ USD 1,755) each, eight pay IDR 14,300,000 (≈ USD 877) and fourteen pay IDR 9,810,000 (≈ USD 602). The eleventh guest moves the boat into the next band, so check your count before you send it.
Shorter and longer trips are priced too: 2 days and 1 night from IDR 57,200,000 (≈ USD 3,509), up to 5 days and 4 nights at IDR 228,800,000 (≈ USD 14,037) for 1 to 10 guests. Children under 3 travel free with a parent or guardian; from 3 the full fare applies.
On a private charter the guide and the photo and video documentation are not included; both are available on request and quoted separately. Komodo National Park tickets and ranger fees are never part of the fare. A fuel surcharge applies while marine fuel prices are high; it is paid separately and the current amount is confirmed in your written quote. Prices exclude 1.1% tax.

Seats on a Friday open trip
Prefer to book a cabin rather than the boat? Open trips on Sea Familia 2 start on Friday and run 3 days and 2 nights. Fares are per person: IDR 8,000,000 (≈ USD 491) in the Family cabin, IDR 10,000,000 (≈ USD 613) in a Deluxe and IDR 12,500,000 (≈ USD 767) in a Master. On an open trip the tour guide and the documentation are included.
You share the boat with other guests, so the cabin is yours and the deck is everyone's. For a family that wants the lounge and the jacuzzi to itself, the whole boat is the answer.
The route, and what to pack for it
The Komodo route on Sea Familia 2 is agreed with you in writing before you pay; the captain sets the order by conditions. Name the stops that matter to you, such as the Komodo ranger walk, a calm snorkel at Pink Beach, the drift at Manta Point or the bats at Kalong. Mantas, turtles and dolphins are often seen in season, never promised.
- Closed shoes for the Komodo walk and the Padar climb, and a hat for both.
- Reef-safe sunscreen, a long-sleeved swim top and a towel for the deck.
- Your own masks for the children. Snorkel gear for Sea Familia 2 is confirmed in your written quote.
- A power bank, a dry bag for phones and a light layer for the evening.
- Seasickness remedies if anyone needs them, taken as your doctor advises.
This is a snorkel boat. Diving can be arranged with a separate dive operator on request.
From the airport to the first cabin door
Pickup in Labuan Bajo is free, from the airport, your hotel or the harbour. The time and the meeting point are confirmed in writing with your booking. Land the day before you sail if you can, and sleep near the harbour.
