Book your boat in three steps

To book a small private boat in Labuan Bajo, send your party size (adults and children) and your dates on WhatsApp, read the written quote, then pay a 50 percent deposit. The balance is due 30 days before sailing, and the replacement-boat guarantee applies to every booking.
Step one: your numbers and your dates
Open WhatsApp and send us four things: how many adults, how many children and their ages, your dates, and whether you want the whole boat or a seat. If you can't decide on a boat, write "not sure" and we'll choose with you.
That's enough for a first answer. We'll reply with a cabin plan for your party and a written quote, saying which boat and which length it covers.
No passports yet, and nothing to pay at this stage. Questions are free too, so ask about a child's age, a grandparent's knees or a cabin with a balcony before you commit to anything.

Step two: the quote, read line by line
Your quote names the boat, the length, the price band for your party size and the cabin plan, and lists what the fare includes and what it leaves out.
A private charter is priced per boat by party size, not per person. On a private charter the guide and the photo and video documentation are not included; both are available on request and quoted separately.
Komodo National Park tickets and ranger fees are never part of the fare. A fuel surcharge applies while marine fuel prices are high; it is paid separately and the current amount is confirmed in your written quote. Prices exclude 1.1% tax.
Go through it line by line. Where something is still open, such as the Sea Familia 2 route or its snorkel gear, the quote says how it will be confirmed. Nothing is booked until the written quote is confirmed and the deposit has arrived.
Two payments: what each one is for
A 50 percent deposit holds the boat or the cabins for your dates, and the balance is due 30 days before sailing. Both amounts are in your written quote.
You can pay by card payment link, bank transfer (IDR), Wise, Revolut, PayPal, QRIS, Alipay or WeChat Pay (through a payment partner). PayPal adds 7.2 percent, and the quote shows the exact figure. The park tickets, the fuel surcharge and tax are separate lines in the same quote.
An open-trip seat is paid the same way, on the same timetable. If you've paid a deposit and the date then stops working, read the next section first: what you get back depends on how far ahead you tell us.

If you change your plans
Cancel 60 days or more before sailing and 50 percent is refunded. At 30 to 59 days it is 25 percent, and under 30 days nothing is refunded. A date change between 14 and 29 days before sailing carries a fee of IDR 500,000.
If the booked Sea Familia cannot sail for a reason beyond our control, we arrange a replacement boat of the same class, or refund you in full within 14 days.
We strongly advise insurance that covers cancellation and medical costs, at your own expense. Changing the date is a smaller step than cancelling, so if your dates slip by a week, ask about a change first.

IDs and the pickup
We need a passport or ID for every guest 7 days before sailing. The harbour wants each name on a passenger list that matches the boarding pass, and we register you.
Pickup in Labuan Bajo is free; the time and the meeting point are confirmed in writing with your booking.
Skipper's tip put the children's ages in your first message so the cabin plan is right first time. A five-year-old and a fifteen-year-old need different beds.
Arrive in Labuan Bajo the day before sailing. The arrival page covers flights and the airport. A flight landing on the morning you sail leaves no room for a delay.

Can I reserve a date before I pay?
Availability is confirmed in writing, and nothing is booked until the written quote is confirmed and the deposit has arrived. Tell us the date you're considering and we'll tell you in writing whether the boat or the cabin is open.
