Sea Familia is two six-cabin phinisi booked through PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia. Sea Familia 1 is 25 m and takes up to 12 guests; Sea Familia 2 is 36.35 m and takes up to 14. Both sail from Labuan Bajo for a private charter or an open-trip seat, from IDR 97,100,000 (≈ USD 5,957) for 3 days and 2 nights.
Two hulls, the same six-cabin plan
Each boat has six cabins. Every cabin has air conditioning and its own bathroom, so no one queues for a shower.
Both are wooden phinisi with a Mitsubishi main engine and two tenders for the beach stops. Both cruise at 6 to 9 knots, which is slow enough that the sailing is part of the day and not a transfer.
Both are hired whole for a private charter, or by the cabin on an open trip. Both keep the water snorkel first, with mask and snorkel provided on Sea Familia 1 and snorkel gear confirmed in your quote on Sea Familia 2.

Where the two differ on deck
Sea Familia 1 has a round jacuzzi on the foredeck and a sundeck with loungers under the mast. Sea Familia 2 has an air-conditioned indoor lounge, a dining area, a jacuzzi on deck and two Master cabins with a balcony and an outdoor bathtub.
Sea Familia 1 has a set route, and Sea Familia 2 agrees one with you in writing. By party size, the break is simple: up to 12 guests fit either, and 13 or 14 fit only Sea Familia 2.
Sea Familia 1 has 6 cabins and takes up to 12 guests, 13 with the extra bed in Manta Cabin I. Sea Familia 2 has 6 cabins and takes up to 14 guests.

Pick your boat by the people you bring
Start from the people, not the boats. A family of four or five does well on Sea Familia 1, which has the lower whole-boat rate for every party from 2 to 12. Two couples who want a balcony cabin each should look at Sea Familia 2.
Eight friends can take either. Ten can take either as well, though the bands fall differently. On Sea Familia 1 the 9 to 12 band starts at 9, and on Sea Familia 2 the first band runs to 10.

That split matters when something goes wrong. The crew sails the boat and the captain decides the route on the day. We hold your booking, your quote and your payment, and we answer for them.

Are the two boats the same class?
They share a plan of six air-conditioned cabins with private bathrooms and the same kind of Komodo day. They differ in length, 25 m against 36.35 m, in capacity, 12 against 14, and in rates, which are separate published lists. We treat them as two boats, not as one.
Are there photos of every cabin on both boats?
For Sea Familia 1, yes: the Manta and Turtle cabins and their bathrooms are in the gallery. For Sea Familia 2, the Master cabin and its bathroom are there, and photos of the Deluxe and Family cabins are on request.
How do I choose between the two boats?
Start from party size and dates. Up to 12 guests fit either boat, and Sea Familia 1 has the lower whole-boat rate; 13 or 14 guests fit only Sea Familia 2. The comparison page sets both out by party size.
