Sea Familia 1 or Sea Familia 2: both have six cabins. Sea Familia 1 takes up to 12 guests, 13 with the extra bed, from IDR 97,100,000 (≈ USD 5,957). Sea Familia 2 takes up to 14, from IDR 114,400,000 (≈ USD 7,018). Both prices are for the whole boat, 3 days and 2 nights.

Sea Familia 1 has 6 cabins and takes up to 12 guests, 13 with the extra bed in Manta Cabin I. Sea Familia 2 has 6 cabins and takes up to 14 guests.
Sea Familia 1 measures 25 m by 5.3 m; Sea Familia 2 is 36.35 m long and 7.5 m wide. Both are wooden phinisi, and on both every cabin has air conditioning and its own bathroom.
The cabins differ more than the hulls. Sea Familia 1 has Manta and Turtle cabins, all with a queen-size bed. Sea Familia 2 mixes two Master cabins, three Deluxe cabins with two single beds and one Family cabin with a queen bed and a bunk.
For six or seven people the length hardly matters. For thirteen or fourteen it settles the question, because only Sea Familia 2 is listed for that many.

Two to fourteen guests, row by row
Start with 4 guests on a 3-day, 2-night trip. Sea Familia 1 is IDR 24,280,000 (≈ USD 1,490) each and Sea Familia 2 is IDR 28,600,000 (≈ USD 1,755) each. One to eight guests share one band on Sea Familia 1, and one to ten on Sea Familia 2.
With 8 aboard it's IDR 12,140,000 (≈ USD 745) against IDR 14,300,000 (≈ USD 877). Both boats fit, and Sea Familia 1 is the lower whole-boat rate. At 10, the 9 to 12 band has started on Sea Familia 1, so it is IDR 10,270,000 (≈ USD 630) each, while Sea Familia 2's first band still runs to 10, at IDR 11,440,000 (≈ USD 702).
On Sea Familia 2, the eleventh guest tips the boat into the next band. Each person pays IDR 11,700,000 (≈ USD 718) at 11, then IDR 10,720,000 (≈ USD 658) at 12. Twelve is the published maximum of Sea Familia 1, at IDR 102,700,000 (≈ USD 6,301) for the whole boat.
Only Sea Familia 2 goes to 13 and 14: IDR 10,560,000 (≈ USD 648) and IDR 9,810,000 (≈ USD 602) each. On Sea Familia 1 a 13th guest needs the extra bed in Manta Cabin I and is priced in your written quote.

What each boat gives you on deck
Sea Familia 1 has a round jacuzzi on the foredeck and a sundeck with loungers and a curved sofa under the mast. The dining saloon is on the upper deck, with bench seating and wide windows. Karaoke and music are on board.
Sea Familia 2 gives you an air-conditioned indoor lounge, a dining area and a jacuzzi on deck. Its two Master cabins add a balcony and an outdoor bathtub, which you won't find in any cabin on Sea Familia 1.
On board, the difference you notice is the cabins and the route. Sea Familia 2 gives two couples a balcony each; Sea Familia 1 gives a family a listed route to plan around.

What only one boat offers
Sea Familia 1 has a set day-by-day route for 3 days and 2 nights, and a snorkelling set for guests. Mask and snorkel are provided; fins are not.
Sea Familia 2 has neither. Its Komodo route is agreed with you in writing before you pay, and its snorkel gear is confirmed in your written quote. We won't copy one boat's list onto the other: if you're planning around a route, you should know which boat has one.
Put what matters to you in your first message. Want a listed route? That's Sea Familia 1. A balcony cabin is Sea Familia 2.
Sailings for each
The calendar below holds the open-trip dates of both boats, and every date names its boat. Missing a date you wanted? Ask, because the boat can still be free for a whole-boat booking.
Both are 3 days and 2 nights, booked by the cabin and per person, with the tour guide and documentation included. The dates are on the open trip page.
For a private charter, any free date works, confirmed in writing. The charter page has every band and length.
So you can choose the boat by your people or by your dates. If your dates are fixed and one boat is taken, the other can still be free, and the quote will say so.
Sea Familia 1 open trips start on Monday and Friday, Sea Familia 2 on Friday. A date taken by a private charter or by maintenance is not listed.

We don't claim either rides better. Length is a fact: Sea Familia 2 is 36.35 m against 25 m for Sea Familia 1. The captain decides the route and the anchorage on the day, in either boat.
Do both boats go to the same places?
Both work in Komodo National Park from Labuan Bajo. Sea Familia 1 has a set route; the Komodo route on Sea Familia 2 is agreed with you in writing before you pay, and the captain sets the order by conditions.

Each boat has its own published rate list, with different bands and lengths. We show both as they stand, and 3 days and 2 nights is the one length both lists share.
