Manta and Turtle, the six cabins

Manta Cabins I to IV are on the main deck, and Turtle Cabins I and II are on the upper deck. Each has a queen-size bed, air conditioning and a private bathroom with a rain shower, toilet and basin.

Manta Cabin I is the one for families. It takes an extra bed and sleeps 2 to 3, so a child gets a bed of their own beside the parents. Manta Cabins II to IV sleep 2, as do the two Turtle cabins with their big portholes.

Who sleeps where for six friends? Three couples, one Manta cabin each, and the other three doors stay shut. Ten guests use five cabins.

The cabins page shows the seat fares cabin by cabin.

Upper-deck saloon, foredeck jacuzzi, sundeck

Meals are in the dining saloon on the upper deck, with bench seating and wide windows over the bay. Everyone eats in the same room, which is rather the point of a six-cabin boat.

On the foredeck there is a round jacuzzi in a teak surround with a cushioned lounge behind it. On top, the sundeck has loungers and a curved sofa under the mast. Karaoke and music are on board.

All three spaces are in the photos. When the jacuzzi is filled is the crew's call on the day, so ask when you board. Any teenager will ask on the first evening; grandparents tend to find the shade of the sundeck by the second afternoon.

Twelve guests and one listed route: when it fits

Sea Familia 1 fits a party of up to 12, and the whole boat is the lower of the two published rates at every size from 2 to 12. A 13th guest needs the extra bed in Manta Cabin I and is priced in your written quote.

Choose her if you want a set 3-day, 2-night route, the lower rate up to 12 guests and one dining room for the whole family. She's the wrong boat for 14 guests, and for diving. This is a snorkel boat. Diving can be arranged with a separate dive operator on request.

Sea Familia 1 provides a mask and snorkel; fins are not provided.

Skipper's tip if the children have their own masks, bring them. One that already fits beats anything picked out of a box at the first stop.

Who this boat suits

  • a party of 2 to 12 guests that wants the lower published whole-boat rate for 3 days and 2 nights

Who it does not suit

  • a party of 13 or 14 that wants a published rate: Sea Familia 2 takes up to 14
  • guests who want a balcony or a bathtub in the cabin: none is listed for Sea Familia 1
  • guests who want to dive: this is a snorkel boat, and diving is arranged with a separate dive operator on request

When the other boat fits better

  • you plan a private charter of 2, 4 or 5 days: those lengths are on request and confirmed in writing
  • you expect a published price for a 13th guest: the rate list stops at 12 guests
  • you expect fins: mask and snorkel are provided; fins are not
